Hi, I’m Fi.

Fiona Evans is a former nurse with 34 years experience in the NHS.

Due to her own lived experience of a challenging perimenopause, she wants to help other women navigate this period in their lives.

Fiona has trained to become a certified menopause support coach and is a member of the British Menopause Society so that she remains up to date with the latest information.

Fiona has used her skills within the NHS and also to provide information and support to individuals and to companies.

Fiona firmly believes that perimenopause / menopause is not the end of who you were, it is the beginning of who you are becoming

Fiona Evans has worked in the NHS for 34 years before training to be a certified menopause support coach. She brings a vast knowledge of the subject, from personal experience together with research and training, and combines an empathetic yet pragmatic approach to providing support.  Fiona’s approach is to provide information and signposting to provide better understanding, illustrate that  women  are not on their own and give them tools to empower them to take back control of their bodies and future health.

Fiona has provided menopause support across a range of forums including holding menopause clinics for an NHS trust, a guest speaker to provide insight and knowledge for an engineering business and during informal meetings of local menopause support groups.

Feedback from menopause support sessions includes:

“I found the session very helpful. It was such a relief to speak to someone who understood and was sympathetic. My symptoms and concerns have been dismissed by so many doctors and nurses and I was really struggling. It gave me the confidence to go back to the doctors and request a review of my HRT. This was changed to patches instead of gel and my symptoms have improved.”

“Fiona was amazing. She listened and was so understanding. She knew what I was going through. I finally felt heard. She gave me information that was relevant to me and how I was feeling. I got the confidence to approach my GP again and was finally listened to after many attempts to seek support.”

“It was so helpful - I felt really listened to and came away with many practical suggestions which were very bespoke to me and my experience of perimenopause. I felt empowered afterwards and emboldened to not simply settle for feeling ‘off’ as just a new version of me. Thanks so much Fiona.”

“Really informative session. I feel I am now able to find more guidance that will support me at work and home in relation to my current peri-menopausal health and wellbeing. Fiona was a much-needed support, clear, calm and knowledgeable. I have focused on nutrition and accepting some of the symptoms I have as normal and understandable.”

“Fiona put me at ease. She is very knowledgeable. She had lots of information leaflets that were very relevant my situation and symptoms. I felt comfortable to discuss very personal issues and she gave me some great advice and samples to try. She advised, me to download an app to track my symptoms, which I have done, so I can take it to my GP to demonstrate my symptoms.”

“Fiona helped me understand that what I was feeling was normal. I had been having more anxiety and depressive thoughts along with questioning my relationship, but she reassured me that these were symptoms and that trying a higher dose of HRT might help which I have done.”

“I was listened to and [Fiona] acknowledged my menopausal symptoms are normal and that my cognitive symptoms can impact work performance. She confirmed I am able to do my job. Discussed GP appointment to discuss medication review/consider change in meds. For me this was a safe and confidential space to express my own experience.”
